A Travellerspoint blog

4th March

Had a great time at home; really, really nice. You wouldn’t believe how living abroad makes you appreciate things…from a feeling of contented excitement stood in a Sainsbury’s aisle (soooo many different foods…) to being able to listen in on ALL the conversations happening around you on the bus, and of course spending time at “home” with loved ones. I think it helped that all my journeys worked out really well…no delays, no hassle, and I think because the flights are becoming kinda regular I’m like super chilled out about them (have never been scared just a worrier) which makes the whole experience less tiring.

So yeah got back on Monday, had roast potatoes, caught up with family etc, watched TV and got a good night’s sleep in my own bed. There really is something about that old bedroom/bed…and bedding washed by mum! Lovely! Then was up bright and early Tuesday and headed to Bath. Of course twas great to see Joe, and he’s really happy etc because of exam results/internship, so we had some really chilled-out time together. Really looking forward to a time post-France, post-Uni whatever, where I’ll get to spend some proper time with him not worrying about how quickly it’s going. It’s only a total of like 5 days we’ve spent together since Christmas, and looks like could be even less in the next few months. But we’ll do it. We did some shopping in Bath, made apple crumble (and steak, chips and veggie crisps…well Joe made, I ate) and had a nice meal with some of his friends. I almost got myself run over like 20 times looking the wrong way at crossings!

Then headed home again for the weekend; went shopping with mum (  ), printed out some stuff I need for lessons this term (“My favourite toy”, “Fashion Show”, and “My school” I think), caught up with Charlene and saw rest of the family and had a nice day on Sunday for Mother’s Day.

Yesterday (Monday) I came back and saw Molly which was cool. Although am really annoyed with internet problems….as in I don’t have it. At all. GRR. But ah well time to pack again now! Rach gets here tonight and then we’re off (with Molly-moo) on our travels around Southern France. Weds: Carcassone and Avignon
Thurs: Avignon and Nice
Fri: Nice and Monacco
Sat: Nice and Monpellier
Sun: Montpellier and back to Perigueux
I think. Something like that anyway. Expect a massive entry and photos a-plenty soon.

Ooo and in like a week and a half Matt and Megan (2 of the Oxford mateys) are coming to stay which is gonna be aweeesoooooooome. Then in another 3 weeks Mum and Dad are gonna be here (with a hired car, sweeet). Then it’s only like a week till next hols and Arcachon/Balliol Ball. And hopefully Joe will be here sometime? *hint hint nudge nudge* ;-)

Woah. Time flies.

It’s snowing!!!
